GREETING: Ri Ro Ewá!!!

The Orixá Ewá or Iyewá, is a beautiful virgin that Xangô fell in love, but it did not manage to conquer it, Ewá escaped of Xangô and was received by Obaluaiye that gave him refuge. Ewá lives in the unattainable forests, linked to Iroko and Oxóssi, and has become a brave warrior and skillful hunter. Ewá is chaste, the Lady of Possibilities.

Ewá is represented by igbá àdó kalabá (gourd with raffia strips).

Offerings: Eja isu - fish with yam, corn / bean / coconut salad

The virgins count on the protection of Ewá and, in fact, everything that is unexplored counts on its protection: virgin forest, virgin girls, rivers and lakes where you can not swim or sail. Ewá herself, some believe, is only initiated into the heads of virgin women, for she herself would be a virgin, the virgin of the virgin forest, the dear daughter of Oxalá and Oduduwá

Ewá dominates the clairvoyance, attribute that the god of all the oracles, Orunmilá granted to him.

In Africa, the river Yewá is the abode of this goddess, but its origin generates controversy. Some say that, like Oxumaré, Nanã, Omulú and Iroko, Ewá was initially worshiped among the Mahi, assimilated by the Yorubas and inserted in its pantheon. There was a female Orixá from the chains of the Dahomey named Dan. The force of this Orixá was concentrated in a snake that swallowed its own tail, which denotes a sense of perpetual continuity of life, because the circle never ends.

Ewa would have the same meaning as Dan or one of his halves - the other would be Oxumare. There are, however, those who claim that Ewá already belonged to the Nagô mythology, originating in the city of Abeokuta. These, certainly, for not knowing the Pantheon Jeje - In which the Vodun Eowa, would be the correspondent of the Ewe of the Nagô - Confound Ewá with a quality of Iemanjá, Oyá and Oxun. Ewá is an independent Orixá, but it is known between the jejes of Eowá and in the town of Yoruba language by Ewa.

Characteristics of the children of Ewá

People of exotic beauty, differ from the others just for this. They tend to be duplicitous: on some occasions they can be quite nice, on others they are extremely arrogant; sometimes they appear to be much older, or they look like girls, naive and pure. Tied to wealth, they like to show off their beautiful and showy clothes, and they always follow fashion, they love compliments and gallantry.

They are highly influential people, who act according to the environment and the people around them, so high society ladies can be restrained when the environment demands, or popular, talkative and cheerful women in less sophisticated places. They are alive and attentive, but their attention is channeled to certain people or occasions, which leads them to detach themselves from the rest of things. This indicates a certain distraction and difficulties of concentration, especially in school activities.

Food: Farofa made with banana from the earth, Palm oil, Banana from the land, passed in the flour and fried in the palm oil.

-Cologne
-Taioba
-Mutamba
